Community Manager.

In the fall of 2015 I was given the privilege of being the Community Manager for Beanstream and helping launch their mobile payment product sproutPOS. This co-op was the most valuable aspect of my degree, giving me real world knowledge and allowing me to apply the concepts I learned in class. My role involved engaging with local businesses in Victoria who might benefit from the product, working with all parts of the company to get ready for launch from Marketing to QA to finance, and developing the operational flows for getting the product to these merchants. The amount of knowldege I gained in these three short months made me realize that the technology industry provided an environment in which I thrived, and I am looking forward to exploring more of the industry after graduation.

Coffee. Food. Beer.

My employment in the Student Union Building began when I started my degree in 2012. In the last four years I have worked many positions such as dishwasher, barista, line cook, server, bartender and supervisor. The opportunity to work with other students in this non-proift environment exposed me to unions, different forms of management and tons of customer service experience. The SUB is a unique environment, housing many campus initatives, clubs, business and people. Working with my peers from every imaginable type of background has taught me many lessons and skills about working in a team. In my more recent years I have been a supervisor at the coffee shop and campus pub. Learning how to engage with my colleauges as a supervisor was an adjustment that allowed me to grow as a leader and person. I am ever grateful for my time working in this amazing environment.
